Take the Vault slots is the third in the line of Take the Bank slots. This one is a Hold & Win game where you can pay extra and trigger the bonus feature automatically. We selected a wager of $5 and got started on an in-depth look at the game, its features, and what we thought of it.

Start With the Paytable

Most symbols pay a prize with three or more symbols on an active payline. On a $5 total bet, these are the prizes shown on the paytable.

  • 9 and 10 – 25 cents to $1.25

  • Jack and Queen- 75 cents to $2.50

  • King and Ace - $1.25 to $3

  • Dollar Bills - $2 to $5

  • Bottle of Whiskey - $2 to $5

  • Gold Bars - $2 to $5

  • Safe - $2.50 to $7.50

  • Revolver - $3 to $10

  • Diamond (pays with two or more symbols) – 75 cents to $12.50

Saloon Door scatters appear on the second, third, and fourth reels. When you get all three, you win 15 free spins. There’s a way to trigger the free spins bonus round automatically.

What Is a Hold & Win Slot Game?

As one of our favorite types of slots, a Hold & Win game has a bonus round where you win three re-spins with the triggering coins or symbols frozen on the reels. Add more coins to the triggering ones and the re-spins counter resets to three.

If you fill all the spaces on the reels, you win the jackpot. Otherwise, the re-spins end when you run out of spins. At that point, your prizes are totaled and awarded to you.

Take the Vault has a Hold & Win feature.  You need six or more Cash Vault symbols to trigger it. We never got there as we gave up after 50 spins. We got close with four symbols a few times, but getting all six proved frustrating.

The Hold & Win feature has four jackpots. They’re valued at:

  • Mini – 50x

  • Minor – 100x

  • Major – 500x

  • Grand – 1,000x

The Detonator Feature Triggers Every 10th Spin

As you play, any Bandit symbols attach dynamite to that space. When the Detonator Feature triggers every 10th spin, sticks of dynamite explode and leave wilds in their place. This can lead to massive winnings. On average, we landed $20 wins every 10th spin.

How Much Did We Win?

In any of our slot game reviews, playing 10 spins is a good gauge of how the RTP and hit rate play out. After choosing a bet of $5 per spin, we got started.

  • 1st spin - $6.75

  • 4th spin - $9

  • 8th spin - $1.25

  • 10th spin - $3

We opted to also buy the feature and see if that’s worthwhile. In our experience, we usually win more than we risk. With the hefty fee of 100x, we spent the $500 to see what would happen.

The 100x gets you 15 free spins with a minimum of 5 wilds. We ended up winning 7 wilds with each spin. Our total winnings after all 15 free spins came to $446.75. It wasn’t bad, but we didn’t exceed what we’d spent.
